The Real Sex Party Is In Canada

When the big Bush took over the US government, I started looking for ways to exchange my Italian ancestry for EU citizenship. That one of Bush's first official acts was to further restrict abortion rights did nothing to ease my mind.

All the while a comparative utopia exists right across our Northern border. I got yet more proof of this reality from the news where a Canadian political party is battling the Canadian postal system in court. The political party is named 'The Sex Party' and their mission for Canada is sex-positivity. Their federal platform includes better sex education, legalizing sex work (and anal sex), and eliminating sex censorship.

On this last salient point, the Canadian post office is being fought in court for censorship a 2006 election flyer that they refused to distribute. The flyer was deemed pornographic due in large part to the image (above) of two people in a sexual embrace.

Maybe I am jaded from my life as a sex worker, but it strikes me as a completely appropriate image. It is sexually descriptive without being explicit or titillating. That is exactly what sex education is about at its best.

Anyway, I have decided to shelf my European emigration in order to pursue a life in Canada. Maybe I can help out with the good sex party cause. I am just waiting for Bush to destroy the environment to the extent that I won't have to deal with all that snow.

Teens Educated By Porn, Scary But True

I just finished editing an new episode for my baby Red Handed Porn. The transboi in the interviewing hot seat, Almond, said that he got the Internet at the age 11. That was his sex ed. The gauntlet of free porn provided him with an inside view to every kink and perviness imaginable.

We tend to work with older folks so this was the first time I met a real live person who got sex educated by porn. He is not alone though. This week This American Life had an episode focused on talking to kids. There was an act dedicated to kids talking about what does and doesn't work in sex ed. Sure enough, they got all their real information from Internet porn.

Parent and school sex ed programs will talk all about the sperm and egg, but they can't seem to mention that the penis goes into the vagina as a means of transport. That leaves a pretty huge gap in education. While porn may do a great job of showing how the sperm might get into a vagina, it doesn't do a good job of describing what real sex is like.

I would say that I am afraid of what will become of all these people as sexual adults, but of course I met one. Sure enough, in his box of sex toys he had all sorts of fun stuff including a pair of scissors for a guy he knows that likes castration play. The Internet also made it an obvious and easy step to being on film. If all of this make it seem like the Internet made a great sex educator, I should point out that he didn't seem all that comfortable with sex. It was an odd mix. Of course he is only 20, so he has plenty of time to get in touch.
